Active Voice to Passive Voice Change Rules and Examples

voice (वाच्य)

voice दो प्रकार के होते है :-
(1) Active voice(सक्रिय)
(2) Passive voice(निष्क्रिय)
Active से passive voice बनाने के नियम :-
(a) object को subject बनाओ |
(b) Helping verb का प्रयोग करो |
(c) verb की third form का प्रयोग करो |
(d) BY का प्रयोग करो |
(e) subject को object बनाओ |

Rule (नियम) :-

No.	ACTIVE VOICE	PASSIVE VOICE
1.	V1/ V1+s/es	Is/am/are+V3
2.	Do/Does+not+V1	Is/am/are+not+V3
3.	Is/am/are+v1+ing	Is/am/are+being+V3
4.	Has/Have+V3	Has/Have+been+V3
5.	V2/did+V1	Was/Were+V3
6.	Was/Were+V1+ing	Was/Were+being+V3
7.	Had+V3	Had been+V3
8.	Will/Shall+Have+V3	Will/Shall+Have been+V3
9.	can/could/may/might/must/will shall/would/should etc.(modals)	Same+be+V3

Examples :-
Active voice :- Amit writes a book.
Passive voice :- A book is written by Amit.

Active voice :- Neha is cooking food in the kitchen.
J Passive voice :- Food is being cooked by Neha in the kitchen.

Active voice :- He has written a nowel.
Passive voice :- A nowel has been written by him.

Active voice :- Kajal has taken food.
Passive voice :- Food has been taken by kajal.

Active voice :- He will write a story tomorrow.
Passive voice :- A story will be written by him tomorrow.

[1] Going to

यदि active voice में "going to" आये तो अर्थात् :-
Active voice :-Going to
Passive voice :-Going to+be+V3
Example :-
Active voice :- Neha is going to cook rice.
Passive voice :- Rice is going to be cooked by Neha.

[2] Double Subjects

यदि active voice में verb के बाद वाले object से passive voice बनाते है तो दूसरे object को V3 के बाद लगाते है |
Example :-
Active voice :- Ms. kajal teaches us english.
Passive voice :- We are taught english by Ms. kajal.
OR
Passive voice :- English is taught to us by Ms. kajal.

[3] Un-important subject

यदि Active voice में they, People, we, children, one, someone, somebody, everyone आदि आये तोPassive voice में इन्हें हटा देते है |
Example :-
Active voice :- People take tea in the morning.
Passive voice :- Tea is taken in the morning.

[4] Some verbs

यदि Active voice में know, obiged, satisfied आदि verbs आये तोPassive voice में निम्न प्रकार बदलते है :-
Example :-
Active voice :- I know you.
Passive voice :- You are known to me.
NOTE :- (a) यदि Active voiceमें has/have/had आये तथा अधिकार को बताये तो इनका Passive voice नही बनाते है|
Example :-
Active voice :- I have a car.
Passive voice :- NO CHANGE
(b) यदिActive voice वाक्य complement दर्शाए तो भीPassive voice नही बनता है|
Example :-
Active voice :- Ram is a doctor.
Passive voice :- NO CHANGE

[5] Interrogative setences

ये दो प्रकार के होते है :-
(a) Helping verb से शुरू होने वाले
(b) Wh. Word से शुरू होने वाले
(a) यदिActive voice helping verb से शुरू हो तो Passive voice भी helping verb से शुरू होगी|
Example :-
Active voice :- Do you read a book.
Passive voice :- Is a book read by you.
(b) यदि Active voice Wh. Word से शुरू हो तोPassive voice भी wh. word से शुरू होगा|
Example :-
Active voice :- When will you return my book?
Passive voice :- When will my book be returned by you?
NOTE :- यदिActive voice Who से शुरू हो तो Passive voice By Whom से शुरू होगा|
Example :-
Active Voice :-Who broke this cup?
Passive voice :- By whom was this cup broken?

[6] Imperative sentences

ये 4 प्रकार के होते है :-
(a) verb की first form से शुरू होने वाले
(b) Do/Don't से शुरू होने वाले
(c) Please/kindly से शुरू होने वाले
(d) Let से शुरू होने वाले
(a) यदिActive voice verb की first form से शरू हो तोPassive voice में सूत्र let+obj+be+V3 के अनुसार बदलते है|
Example :-
Active voice :- Help the poor.
Passive voice :- Let the poor be helped.
(b) यदिActive voice Do/Don't से शुरू हो तोPassive voice में सूत्र let/letn't+obj+be+V3 अनुसार बदलते है|
Example :-
Active voice :- Do your homework.
Passive voice :- Let your homework be done.
(c) यदिActive voice Please/kindly से शुरू हो तो Passive voice में सूत्र " You are requested to(You are advised to) या obj+may+Please/kindly+be+V3" के अनुसार बदलते है|
Example :-
Active voice :- Please take your seat.
Passive voice :- You are requested to take your seat.
OR
Passive voice :- Your sear may Please be taken.
(d) यदिActive voice Let से शरू हो तोPassive voice में सूत्र let+obj+be+V3+by+Subject अनुसार बदलते है|
Example :-
Active voice :- Let him play football.
Passive voice :- Let football be played by him.
